
Perusi entered the Applied Social and Community Psychology program in Fall of 2019, after receiving their B.S. in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill in 2016 and working locally in clinical data abstraction. Their research interest is centered on working with Black communities, with a focus on nonbinary Black individuals, to increase their health outcomes through community-based participatory research. Eva is a second-year student in the Applied Social and Community Psychology PhD program. She has done research on various topics, including homelessness and housing, military personnel issues, terrorism, and criminal-justice related issues. Her current research focuses on techniques for shifting away from retributive forms of justice.
